The Role of Soul Architects.
Soul Architects are able to offer creative design skills, professional services and technical expertise. We will lead you through the entire process from initial concept through to completion.
We will advise and guide you through the planning and building regulations and obligations that you need to comply with and we can deal with all of the relevant authorities on your behalf.
We will specify materials and finishes and will explore and consider the running costs and maintenance of such as we realise that good design and planning in the early stages will often save you money or add value in the long term.
Our services follow the RIBA Outline Plan of Work 2007 and we use the RIBA Standard Forms of Contract.
Conservation advice
We specialise in conservation advice working with planners and conservation officers to find solutions and proposals to meet everyone’s requirements.
We have an immense knowledge of historic buildings and the principles and techniques that are fundamental in repairs and alterations to these structures; we understand that any repair or intervention must not damage the historic fabric. We specialise in the use of traditional materials and methods which must be used, for example when using lime mortar and stone or the timber needed for roof repairs.
We understand the dynamics needed in the creative approach to design when trying to add new elements that fit well into sensitive environments and how the appropriate use of modern materials can compliment an old building.
Measured surveys
We are able to undertake measured surveys on smaller properties; however on larger project it is more cost effective to employ the services of a specialist surveyor, for which we are able to obtain quotations.
